Clergy Notes – August 1st, 2025

Dear Truro family,

I’m delighted to share the news that Dr. Ryan Shelton will soon be joining the Truro staff as our Director of Worship. Over the last few months, as Ryan has gone through the interview process (which included “filling in” as our worship leader three different Sundays), it’s become clear that God has uniquely called and gifted Ryan for this role. Thank you to all who have been praying for us during this extended search process!

Ryan is a music educator and worship historian who has led congregations for 20 years. He has served churches in Texas, the Midwest, and the United Kingdom, and for the past decade he and his wife, Charissa, have called the ACNA and GAFCON home. Ryan has a passion for helping congregations engage mind, heart, and body in magnifying Christ. Charissa works in DC for a nonprofit member organization in customer experience design and also brings a ministry background.

The Sheltons recently returned to the USA after 5 years in the UK, where Ryan earned his PhD in history, focusing on seventeenth-century Christian arts and worship. They feel a strong bond with Truro’s praying culture and are eager to call Truro their church home.

Please join me in welcoming Ryan and Charissa to Truro and praying for them in the weeks and months ahead as they transition into life and ministry alongside us.

Jamie
