Mary Maggard Hays
Mary Maggard Hays serves as our Priest-in-Charge. She began her ministry in Connecticut and Virginia. She was assistant rector at Truro in the late 1980s. Having already earned her Masters in Divinity, she then went on to earn a Doctorate in Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary, and she taught pastoral theology and leadership at Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry for many years. Since 1998, Mary has been involved in ministry at the diocesan level, first in the Anglican Diocese of Pittsburgh, where she served as canon to Archbishop Duncan, and now in our own Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic. She currently serves as the Canon for Clergy and Congregational Care in DOMA, where she develops clergy and consults with congregations (particularly those in transition). Mary has been married to The Rev. Whis Hays for 46 years. Whis founded and directs Rock the World Youth Mission Alliance. They are the parents of two grown children, Kate (married to Erik) and Dave (married to Julie), and they have six grandchildren.
Associate Rector for Worship and Arts
Jamie Brown serves as the Associate Rector for Worship and Arts. Jamie was born and raised in a ministry family in Florida, and began leading worship at the age of 13. He moved to Fairfax in 2000 and graduated from Oakton High School. He earned his B.A. in Psychology from George Mason University, and a Master of Arts in Religion from Reformed Theological Seminary. In his free time, he enjoys running, music, and spending time with his family. Jamie is married to Catherine, and they have four children: Megan, Emma, Callie, and Jacob.
Associate Rector for Prayer and Healing
Sue Hardman is the Associate Rector for Prayer and Healing. She was born in Miami, Florida where she met and married Rob Hardman in 1976, who was a Coast Guard officer. They enjoyed moving many times before settling in Virginia in 1992 with their 2 boys Sam and Tom. She attended Virginia Theological Seminary and graduated with a Master’s in Divinity. Sue’s passion in ministry is living, teaching, and helping others to have a rich and deep prayer life. In addition to, helping others embrace healing as needed in their life and their community. Rob and Sue have 2 married sons and 5 grandchildren. She loves time with her family, and enjoys traveling, gardening, cooking, and reading.
Associate Rector for Families and Discipleship
Mike Seawright is the Associate Rector for Families and Discipleship. Before coming to Truro, Mike served on staff with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and in youth and young adults ministry at a couple Presbyterian churches in Southern California. He received an MDiv from Fuller Theological Seminary and a B.A. from Trinity University (TX). Mike is married to Jenny, and they have three boys — Aiden, Benjamin, and Nathan. In his free time he loves outdoor adventures (skiing, hiking, backpacking, canoeing, etc.) and coaching his boys in soccer.
Steven Shalita serves as a non-stipendiary clergy while maintaining his main work in international development. Born to a Ugandan ministry family, Steven was ordained in 2003, and spent most of his early service working with youth, doing evangelistic outreach, introducing contemporary worship, and establishing the marriage ministry. Steven and his family moved to Fairfax in 2013 and joined Truro. Steven is married to Michelle and they have four adult children: Colin (married to Bronwyn), Judah, Stephanie and Manzi. They enjoy traveling, cooking, walking, gardening and just chilling. Steven has a bachelor’s and master’s in communication from Makerere University and University of Leeds in the UK respectively, and a postgraduate diploma in Christian Ministries.

Director of Operations
Liz Brewster is the Director of Operations and oversees Facilities, Finance, HR, Systems, and more, helping them work together to best support Truro’s ministries. Liz grew up in Fairfax, attending Truro Kindergarten and then graduating from Trinity Christian School after attending all 12 years there. She spent 5 years in Richmond, VA working in churches and nonprofits doing anything from administration to worship to teaching to helping the homeless. In her free time she enjoys hiking, traveling, reading, and growing succulents.
Kingsley Brinkley is the Bookkeeper. She helps Marsha maintain the books and accounting. This is a dream job for Kingsley as she has always enjoyed working with people and numbers. Kingsley grew up and went to college in VA. She earned a B.S. degree in Commerce with a concentration in Accounting from UVA’s McIntire School of Commerce. Kingsley lives close by in Fairfax City with her husband, Bill, and is blessed to have her kids and parents close by.
Marsha Foos is the Financial Controller and oversees the budgeting and finance processes, ensuring people and bills are paid, and contributions are tracked and deposited. Marsha grew up in a small town in MT and was once chased by a moose. She lives in Fairfax with her husband, Andrew, and their 3 kids.
Systems Project Manager
Jason LaLone is the Systems Project Manager and works with the different software systems church, making sure they are all up to date and operating correctly. Jason grew up locally in Fairfax, Virginia where he graduated from Robinson Secondary School. He went on to study business at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville. Jason now lives in Manassas where he loves playing volleyball and going to all the local coffee shops.
Hugo Blondel is the facilities manager responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of Truro Church properties, also ensuring that they meet legal requirements, and health and safety standards. He immigrated to the USA in 2001 from Bolivia, South America. He finished business administration school at the Bolivian Catholic University. He took English classes at NOVA, Facility Maintenance tech classes in FCPS, and ACE and Facility Management classes at George Mason University. He is married and has two children, and has been working at Truro for almost 10 years.

Family Ministries & Discipleship Administrative Support
Molly Andreson provides administrative support for Family Ministries and Discipleship. Molly grew up in the Midwest, but transplanted here to NOVA and Truro 25 years ago. She earned her BA at Taylor University, in Upland, IN. She lives here in Fairfax with her husband and their two children.
Director of Kids Ministry
Anne Bronaugh is the Director of Kids Ministry where her greatest hope is for kids to know Jesus, take steps of faith, and feel and be a valued part of a supportive community…and to have FUN! After graduating from James Madison University with a degree in Communications, Anne worked in Media and Public Relations before rediscovering a love for teaching through volunteer work. She spent 10 years teaching and helping lead the chapel program at TPK before becoming the kids director at Truro five years ago. Anne lives in Fairfax City, three minutes from Truro if she hits the lights right, with her husband Tim and their four kids (except when some are at college) who all grew up at Truro.
Director of Youth Ministry
Summer Fariñas (nee Anderson) is the Director of Youth Ministry. She leads the middle and high school ministries, oversees a team of amazing volunteers, and facilitates appropriate shenanigans. Summer grew up in Alexandria, Virginia where she enjoyed being involved in her local church and community theater. She earned a B.A. in English from Regent University before responding to a call to vocational ministry. Summer recently married her husband, Richard. They live in Fairfax, VA with their dog, Ike.
Early Childhood Coordinator & Special Services Coordindator
Maggie Marcum is the Early Childhood Coordinator for Family Ministry and the Special Services Coordinator for Worship and Arts. Maggie supervises a fabulous team in The Nest, who provide care for newborns to Pre-K children as they learn about Jesus, while their parents are attending Sunday services or other special events at Truro. She also is the point-of-contact for weddings and funerals at Truro. Maggie brings over 30 years of experience teaching and leading children’s programs. She retired from the government after serving for 35 years and holds a B.S. in Organizational Leadership from Regent University. She is a trained spiritual director and community group leader. Maggie enjoys connecting with friends and family over meals, coffee, or hockey games.
Director of TPK
Fiona Bracy is the director of TPK (Truro Preschool and Kindergarten). She grew up in the London area in the UK and moved with her husband and two children in 2003 to Northern Virginia where she began working at TPK as a classroom teacher. She then moved into administration as the developmental specialist, and later as director. She has a heart to see young children make healthy connections and enjoy a relationship with Jesus. She enjoys equipping parents of young kids with needed tools to raise their children. She also enjoys traveling, exercising, reading and spending quality time with friends.
Associate Rector for Prayer and Healing
Prayer Ministry Pastor & Chaplain to the Staff
Cindy Olland helps leads our prayer ministry (which offers Healing Prayer, Spiritual Direction, and Lay Counseling services), and serves as Chaplain to the Staff. Cindy has a B.A. Degree in Political Science from Hiram College in Ohio, and after working as a paralegal, moved to a career in communications. She worked at Freddie Mac for 26 years and then as the Communications Director for six years in her previous church. She received Lay Counseling training from the Christian Counseling and Education Foundation (CCEF) outside of Philadelphia. Cindy lives in Reston.
TIPS Volunteer & Special Events Coordinator
Myra Hinote is one of the TIPS Administrators, working in partnership with Pilar Fandiño Remer to keep this ministry to 160+ students from over 30 countries going strong. Myra is a jack of all trades and master of none, with degrees in Astrophysics, Religion, and International Relations. She is an Air Force spouse and has lived in 21 different places. She and her husband Clint have 3 young-adult children — Meg, Hunter, & Holly — and two ridiculously spoiled black labs.
Pilar Andrea Remer
TIPS Ministry Assistant
Pilar Andrea Remer (nee Fandiño) is the primary TIPS Adminstrator, as well as the Outreach & Missions Assistant. She is the primary liaison for the TIPS students and works with Myra to plan and execute all of the TIPS programs. Pilar grew up in Colombia where she earned her degree in Business Administration. She decided to come to the United States as an au pair for one year to learn English, and started in the TIPS program as a student. One year turned into 4, and Pilar went from being a student to being a volunteer and then to full-time staff. Pilar married Wes Remer in June 2021, and they are enjoying setting up their home together as newlyweds in Bristow.

Associate Director of Worship and Arts
Odori Pendleton is the Associate Director of Music and Worship. She was born and raised in a small town in the Appalachian Mountains called Rocky Mount, Virginia. She came to know the Lord as her personal Lord and Savior at the age of 9. Odori grew up in a Baptist church where she had opportunities to grow her faith as a youth leader, missionary, and worship leader. Continuing the same roles in college, Odori attended Virginia Polytechnic Institution and State University. There, she led ministry with Campus Crusade for Christ, Impact Campus Ministries, Kids Across America: Kanakuk Kamps. Odori led missionary teams to South Africa, Jamaica, and Bahamas. While doing ministry Odori maintained focus in pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Vocal Performance. She married her best friend and college sweetheart Brandon. They met through campus ministry where he was the praise and worship leader. His astute work effort influenced her to pursue her master’s degree. Odori obtained her Kodály Music certification and Master of Music Education from Loyal University. Odori loves being athletic and spending time with friends and family. Brandon and Odori have two children and value quality with their kids.
