Jamie Brown

Rector

Jamie Brown was called in August 2022 to be the next rector of Truro Anglican Church. Born and raised in a ministry family in Florida, Jamie discerned a call to serve the Church at a young age, and began leading worship weekly at the age of 13. He earned his B.A. in Psychology from George Mason University, and a Master of Arts in Religion from Reformed Theological Seminary. From 2004-2014, Jamie was on the staff of The Falls Church Anglican, and has served on the Truro staff in various roles since 2014. In his free time, he enjoys running, music, and spending time with his family. Jamie is married to Catherine, and they have four children: Megan, Emma, Callie, and Jacob.

Mike Seawright

Associate Rector for Families and Discipleship

Mike Seawright is the Associate Rector for Families and Discipleship. Before coming to Truro, Mike served on staff with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and in youth and young adults ministry at a couple Presbyterian churches in Southern California. He received an MDiv from Fuller Theological Seminary and a B.A. from Trinity University (TX). Mike is married to Jenny, and they have three boys — Aiden, Benjamin, and Nathan. In his free time he loves outdoor adventures (skiing, hiking, backpacking, canoeing, etc.) and coaching his boys in soccer.

Steven Shalita

Steven Shalita serves as a non-stipendiary clergy while maintaining his main work in international development. Born to a Ugandan ministry family, Steven was ordained in 2003, and spent most of his early service working with youth, doing evangelistic outreach, introducing contemporary worship, and establishing the marriage ministry. Steven and his family moved to Fairfax in 2013 and joined Truro. Steven is married to Michelle and they have four adult children: Colin (married to Bronwyn), Judah, Stephanie and Manzi. They enjoy traveling, cooking, walking, gardening and just chilling. Steven has a bachelor’s and master’s in communication from Makerere University and University of Leeds in the UK respectively, and a postgraduate diploma in Christian Ministries.

Daria Brown

Director of Operations

Daria Brown is the Director of Operations and oversees facilities, finance, HR, systems, and more, helping them work together to best support Truro’s ministries. Daria grew up in Pennsylvania, but moved to Virginia for college and has never moved back. She has a degree in psychology from Eastern Mennonite University. Daria has spent many years working in retail management before joining the team at Truro. She lives in Fairfax with her husband, Jesse, and 4 children.

Kingsley Brinkley

Bookkeeper

Kingsley Brinkley is the Bookkeeper. She helps Marsha maintain the books and accounting. This is a dream job for Kingsley as she has always enjoyed working with people and numbers. Kingsley grew up and went to college in VA. She earned a B.S. degree in Commerce with a concentration in Accounting from UVA’s McIntire School of Commerce. Kingsley lives close by in Fairfax City with her husband, Bill, and is blessed to have her kids and parents close by.

Marsha Foos

Financial Controller

Marsha Foos is the Financial Controller and oversees the budgeting and finance processes, ensuring people and bills are paid, and contributions are tracked and deposited. Marsha grew up in a small town in MT and was once chased by a moose. She lives in Fairfax with her husband, Andrew, and their 3 kids.

Jason LaLone

Systems Project Manager

Jason LaLone is the Systems Project Manager and works with the different software systems church, making sure they are all up to date and operating correctly. Jason grew up locally in Fairfax, Virginia where he graduated from Robinson Secondary School. He went on to study business at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville. Jason now lives in Manassas where he loves playing volleyball and going to all the local coffee shops.

Hugo Blondel

Facilities Manager

Hugo Blondel is the facilities manager responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of Truro Church properties, also ensuring that they meet legal requirements, and health and safety standards. He immigrated to the USA in 2001 from Bolivia, South America. He finished business administration school at the Bolivian Catholic University. He took English classes at NOVA, Facility Maintenance tech classes in FCPS, and ACE and Facility Management classes at George Mason University. He is married and has two children, and has been working at Truro for almost 10 years.

Molly Andreson

Clergy Administrator

Molly Andreson provides administrative and ministry support for the rector and the other clergy at Truro. Molly grew up in the Midwest, but transplanted here to NOVA and Truro 25 years ago. She earned her BA at Taylor University, in Upland, IN. She lives here in Fairfax with her husband and their two children.

Anne Bronaugh

Director of Kids Ministry

Anne Bronaugh is the Director of Kids Ministry where her greatest hope is for kids to know Jesus, take steps of faith, and feel and be a valued part of a supportive community…and to have FUN! After graduating from James Madison University with a degree in Communications, Anne worked in Media and Public Relations before rediscovering a love for teaching through volunteer work. She spent 10 years teaching and helping lead the chapel program at TPK before becoming the kids director at Truro five years ago. Anne lives in Fairfax City, three minutes from Truro if she hits the lights right, with her husband Tim and their four kids (except when some are at college) who all grew up at Truro.

Summer Fariñas

Director of Youth Ministry

Summer Fariñas (nee Anderson) is the Director of Youth Ministry. She leads the middle and high school ministries, oversees a team of amazing volunteers, and facilitates appropriate shenanigans. Summer grew up in Alexandria, Virginia where she enjoyed being involved in her local church and community theater. She earned a B.A. in English from Regent University before responding to a call to vocational ministry. Summer recently married her husband, Richard. They live in Fairfax, VA with their dog, Ike.

Maggie Marcum

Office and Event Manager & Early Childhood Coordinator

Maggie Marcum is the Office and Event Manager responsible for volunteer coordination, event oversight, and management of office resources across Truro, under the Parish Operations Area of Ministry (AOM). Maggie interacts with all AOMs,  providing administrative support. She is the point-of-contact for weddings and funerals at Truro. As the Early Childhood Coordinator for Family Ministry, she supervises a fabulous team in The Nest, who provide care for newborns to Pre-K children as they learn about Jesus on Sunday. She is Truro’s safety officer and presents monthly workshops on best practices for volunteers who engage with vulnerable people in our midst. Maggie retired from the intelligence community after serving for 35 years and holds a B.S. in Organizational Leadership from Regent University. She is a trained spiritual director and community group leader. Maggie enjoys connecting with friends and family and helping everyone discover their ministry calling. 

Fiona Bracy

Director of TPK

Fiona Bracy is the director of TPK (Truro Preschool and Kindergarten). She grew up in the London area in the UK and moved with her husband and two children in 2003 to Northern Virginia where she began working at TPK as a classroom teacher. She then moved into administration as the developmental specialist, and later as director. She has a heart to see young children make healthy connections and enjoy a relationship with Jesus. She enjoys equipping parents of young kids with needed tools to raise their children.  She also enjoys traveling, exercising, reading and spending quality time with friends.

Cindy Olland

Prayer Ministry Pastor & Chaplain to the Staff

Cindy Olland helps leads our prayer ministry (which offers Healing Prayer, Spiritual Direction, and Lay Counseling services), and serves as Chaplain to the Staff. Cindy has a B.A. Degree in Political Science from Hiram College in Ohio, and after working as a paralegal, moved to a career in communications. She worked at Freddie Mac for 26 years and then as the Communications Director for six years in her previous church. She received Lay Counseling training from the Christian Counseling and Education Foundation (CCEF) outside of Philadelphia. Cindy lives in Reston.

Myra Hinote

Director of TIPS

Myra Hinote is the Director of TIPS, working in partnership with Liliana Nava, Clare Mountfort, and 50+ volunteers to keep this ministry to 220+ students from over 30 countries going strong.  Myra is a jack of all trades and master of none, with degrees in Astrophysics, Religion, and International Relations.  She has extensive experience in volunteer management, non-profit organizations, and event planning.  She is an Air Force spouse and has lived in 21 different places.  Myra and her husband Clint have 3 young-adult children — Meg, Hunter, & Holly — and two ridiculously spoiled black labs.

Alan MacDonald

Missions and Outreach Coordinator

Alan MacDonald serves as the Missions and Outreach Coordinator here at Truro.  He was a Wycliffe missionary for 32 years and served with both Wycliffe and SIL International in government relations, international relations, and program administration that included 15 years in field assignments in Mexico, Philippines, and China.  Alan earned a B.A. in History and Political Science from Houghton College, an M.A. from the University of Southern California School of Journalism as well as graduate studies in ethnology at the University of Oklahoma. His greatest educational achievement was learning Chinese in the Yale-in-Asia Program at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Alan is married to Doris. From their very first visit to Truro they have felt that this is “home.”  Alan considers it “all joy” to serve at Truro, a church with a rich history in missions and continued impact “around the world and across the street.”

Odori Pendleton

Associate Director of Worship and Arts

Odori Pendleton is the Associate Director of Music and Worship. She was born and raised in a small town in the Appalachian Mountains called Rocky Mount, Virginia. She came to know the Lord as her personal Lord and Savior at the age of 9. Odori grew up in a Baptist church where she had opportunities to grow her faith as a youth leader, missionary, and worship leader. Continuing the same roles in college, Odori attended Virginia Polytechnic Institution and State University. There, she led ministry with Campus Crusade for Christ, Impact Campus Ministries, Kids Across America: Kanakuk Kamps. Odori led missionary teams to South Africa, Jamaica, and Bahamas. While doing ministry Odori maintained focus in pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Vocal Performance. She married her best friend and college sweetheart Brandon. They met through campus ministry where he was the praise and worship leader. His astute work effort influenced her to pursue her master’s degree. Odori obtained her Kodály Music certification and Master of Music Education from Loyal University. Odori loves being athletic and spending time with friends and family. Brandon and Odori have two children and value quality with their kids.

Elizabeth Olney

Director of Communications

Elizabeth Olney serves Truro as the Director of Communications. The daughter of a Navy Captain, Elizabeth traveled the world as a child, living in both Japan and Spain. She graduated from George C. Marshall HS and then got her B.A. in Communications and Sociology from the University of Virginia. She has a long career both in communications and sales, and previously worked for Truro as Communications Manager from 2003-2008. She is working virtually from Lake Hartwell, GA, where she lives with her husband, Jack. She has three children (Hannah, Kate & Will), two grandchildren (John & Charlotte), and two pups (Piper & Harper). In her extra time, Elizabeth owns a professional organizing business, Shipshape Organizing and calls “Bingo” as her local brewpub.

Clare supports the activities and classes offered to internationals both here at Truro Church and worldwide via Zoom. Her journey, which started locally, took her to France for 20 years and finally brought her back to Fairfax County. She is so grateful to be part of the TIPS ministry and to love and serve those who are part of the program. Clare’s undergraduate degree is from GMU and has a Master’s degree in Strategic Marketing from University of Paris. She lives nearby in Burke with her husband Scott and has two amazing sons living and working in Europe.

Rebekah Johnson

Director of Dance Ministry

Rebekah Johnson is the director of Dance Ministry.  She grew up in Shoreview, MN and received dance training at a small Christian dance studio.  She danced tap, jazz, and ballet, throughout middle and high school.  Between her junior and senior years of highschool she participated in a mission trip with YWAM called Summer of Dance where she trained in various dances for a month in Montana and then participated in a month-long mission trip that utilized dance as a form of outreach in Thailand.  She attended Bethel University in St. Paul, MN where she was on the dance team her freshman year.  She earned her B.A in TESOL from Bethel and her M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Minnesota.  She stayed active in dance throughout her young adult years by exploring different styles of social dance and occasionally dancing at her local church. She lives in Fairfax with her husband Matt and their three sons

Sharon Cartwright

Director of Prayer and Healing Ministry

Sharon Cartwright, who is Truro’s Director of Prayer and Healing Ministry. Sharon was raised in the context of a large Polish family on the banks of the Chesapeake Bay area. She graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park with a B.A. in English. She has attended Truro Church since 2006 and worked in the Prayer and Healing Ministry for over 10 years. She lives in the City of Fairfax with her husband, Gary, and three children, Daniel, Benjamin, and Lily.  For fun, Sharon likes to camp, hike, spend time with family and friends, read, garden, and be in the mountains.

Zach Sprowls

Interim Director of Music

Zach Sprowls is the Interim Director of Music, leading worship on Sundays and for other special services, and overseeing various other musical responsibilities. He makes the trek down every weekend from Scranton, PA, where he lives with his family, and fills the rest of his time as a self-employed musician making lots of music, coffee, and references to The Office.
