Dear Truro family,
While we experience community on Sundays and other events, we all need deeper and more sustained connections with brothers and sisters in the faith to “grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ…” (Eph. 4:15). Community Groups are places where we can be spiritually formed by:
- Focusing on Scripture, teaching and learning from one another
- Giving and receiving hospitality
- Experiencing fellowship, making time for mutual listening, encouragement, and support
- Sharing our joys and struggles and lifting each other up in prayer
- Expressing God’s love beyond the church by engaging together in local service and outreach projects
In short, Community Groups are where we can live out the Christian life together.
I encourage you to consider joining one of our 24 Community Groups. Some are brand new; others are re-forming this month. Groups come in various shapes and sizes, meeting at various times and frequencies. Detailed descriptions can be found here.

P.S. Throughout the months of summer, we’ve kept you updated about our finances. While Sunday attendance stayed steady (and grew) in spite of what can often be a “summer slump”, that slump has been noticeable in regular giving. Now at the beginning of September we’ve arrived at a roughly $200,000 deficit in giving. We’ve held our regular expenses below budget, although our campus expenses have been higher than budgeted due to a confluence of unplanned but necessary repairs. It’s important that our regular giving gets back on track, as we all partner together to support the ministry of this church. I encourage you to give generously either online here or this Sunday during our offering.
