Clergy Notes – September 5th, 2025

Dear Truro family,

It’s hard to believe that it’s been two years since we launched our first church plant since 2001: Trinity Church, Burke. Sunday, August 27, 2023 was a day of celebration and tears as we commissioned and sent off 50 Truro members to follow the leading of the Lord. I asked Mike Seawright (Trinity’s church planting pastor) to share an update on how things are going:

Dear Truro,

Two years ago, you sent a team of 50 to plant Trinity Church, Burke. We “launched” publicly with another 25 in mid-October of 2023. Since then, Trinity has:

  • Grown to 115 in worship. Around 175 call Trinity their church home and something like 40% are children.
  • Baptized 14 children (and counting).
  • Worshipped in at least 7 different locations.
  • Helped start a weekly worship service at Sunrise Assisted Living in Burke and middle school Young Life (“Wyld Life”) at Robinson Secondary.
  • Grown to 6 community groups (and counting).
  • Hired a full time Associate Pastor.
  • Moved thousands of chairs.
  • Continued to grow in the fruit of the Spirit to the glory of God and for the sake of Burke.

God has been so good to this church that didn’t exist two years ago, and we continue to look forward in anticipation to all God has in store!

Mike Seawright

Truro, thank you for your continued prayers for Trinity Burke. And thank you to all who were a part of this exciting (and somewhat terrifying) leap of faith two years ago. Look what the Lord has done!

Jamie
