Dear Truro family,
The murder of Charlie Kirk this past Wednesday is yet another heartbreaking manifestation of evil that causes us to grieve and to lament deeply. Politics completely aside, anytime and anywhere that we see wickedness and hatred exposed in all of its demonic destructiveness, our hearts ought to break as we cry out to God “how long?” The kinds of shocking displays of human depravity that we see in the news and/or our social media feeds affirm an unavoidable truth: there is a sickness in this nation and in this world that only Jesus can heal. There is a darkness that only Jesus can outshine. There is a divisiveness and a polarization that only Jesus can unite. We need a Savior. We need a Deliverer. We need a Light. No party, no platform, no legislation, and no politician could ever possibly fix all that is broken. Jesus is our only hope. But oh, what a hope he is.
Come quickly, Lord Jesus.
