Dear Truro family,
Central to our church’s fourth pillar of Outreach is our ministry to the international community all around us. We call this ministry “TIPS”, which stands for “Truro International Programs and Services”. Along with a wonderful staff and team of volunteers, Myra Hinote directs TIPS. I asked her to share an update with you on how the new semester is going:
Praise God, TIPS is off to a great start! We currently have 220 students from 35 different countries registered for our English classes. More than just teaching English, though, we are “welcoming the stranger” and sharing God’s love by providing a community and a sense of belonging to people who have left everything familiar behind. This year, that sense of community has seemed to develop faster than ever before! I invite you to come visit one of our online or in-person classes to experience the joy that is TIPS!
I hope you’re as encouraged as I am by God’s work in and through this church! Thanks for your continued prayers and partnership in the gospel.
Your brother,
Jamie
