Clergy Notes – October 31st, 2025

Dear Truro family,

I’d like to bring you up to speed on how Truro is doing financially, and what our budget is looking like for 2026. As partners in the gospel, and as the ministry of this church is 100% supported by your generous giving, it’s important that you have confidence that this church stewards your money wisely, prayerfully, and transparently.

I asked Marsha Foos, Truro’s Financial Controller, to let you know how we’re doing year-to-date, and how your vestry is praying about next year’s budget:

As of the end of October, our unrestricted giving is over budget by $184,000 compared to our year-to-date budget of $2,089,000! In order to end the year on budget, we are praying to receive an additional $471,000 by year end, for a total budget of $2,744,000. Our expenses through October are nearly $100,000 below budget. We are grateful that we are planning to end the year on firm financial footing.

The budget for 2026 is currently being prayerfully considered and reviewed by your vestry. The proposed budget includes an increase of just over $300,000, a 10% increase in our overall income and a matching increase in expenses, for a total budget of $3,352,000.

I trust this is helpful for you to know, Truro family. And I invite you to think and pray about your support in the coming year, as we prepare to make our commitments together on Sunday, November 16.

Jamie
