Clergy Notes – November 25th, 2022

Dear Truro Family,

Even though it’s the day after Thanksgiving, I wanted to take a moment just to say how thankful I am for you.

You are an incredible church! So many of your faces and names come to my mind as I write this, remembering all of the ways you serve behind the scenes, the light of Jesus that radiates from your smiles, how flexible and faith-filled you’ve been over the last few years of turmoil, your stories and testimonies of God’s work in your lives, and on and on.

I also wanted to share a request, especially for those in our church who have been members here for 10 years or more:

We have many people in our church who have been faithfully attending here for several decades. Praise God. But we also have many people in our church who are brand new, or who may have joined just before the pandemic. If you’re one of those people who have been here for a significant period of time and you feel quite connected, I’d like to ask you to make a point of finding people on Sunday mornings who you don’t know, introducing yourself, getting to know the “new” folks, and maybe even inviting them to lunch after church, or thinking of some other way to connect. I’m praying that in the coming years, God will help us continue to grow together. Not only as a church, but as a church family.

Your brother,

Jamie
