Clergy Notes – June 28th, 2024

Dear Truro family,

Over the last year, our church has been blessed to get to know Matt Yi (Director of Outreach) and his family. Matt has some news that I’ve asked him to share with you himself:

It is with sadness that I announce I’ll be transitioning out as Director of Outreach. In short, I don’t think my gifts and passions fully fit in with what Truro needs to help lead the pillar of Outreach. I know this news is sudden, but I sense more and more peace that this is where God is leading Truro and myself. With that said, I’m still discerning my next step and would appreciate prayers for that endeavor.

This departure is hard for me because I didn’t share just the gospel at Truro, but I shared myself with you all; and many of you reciprocated that by sharing your lives with me as well. I am so incredibly grateful for that honor. “So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us (1 Thess. 2:8).”

I will miss you all, but my family and I hope to return and visit because you have become very dear to us.

Your brother,
Matt

This Sunday at our 10:00 A.M. service we’ll take time to thank Matt and cover him with prayer. Thank you for being the kind of congregation that loves people well, both in their coming and in their going.
