Clergy Notes – June 13th, 2025

Dear Truro family,

We awake this morning to news of Israel striking nuclear targets in Iran. The morning after the news of a terrible plane crash in India. Following several days of news about riots and troops in Los Angeles, amid ever-increasing political tensions in our nation. What will tomorrow’s news bring?

We don’t know what tomorrow’s news will bring. But we know that God is God. And God will always be God. And that God reigns over all.

Do. Not. Be. Afraid.

We are not a people of fear, we are a people of faith. A people of faith that God is in control of all things great and small. That God is control of the weeds growing in our yard, and he is control of the events playing out on the world stage. Moses wrote in Psalm 90:2 that “from everlasting to everlasting” God is God. Nothing surprises him. Therefore nothing should frighten us.

So we pray. Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. And come quickly, Lord Jesus.

Your brother,
Jamie
