Clergy Notes – January 13th, 2023

Dear Truro Family,

This coming Sunday, we’ll be resuming our study of the book of Philippians. Over the next eight weeks, as we journey through the second half of Paul’s letter, my hope and prayer is that God will use it to continue putting this church on the same page: literally and spiritually!

There are a lot of ways we can “do life together” as a church. But the best way is God’s way. And the best way to know God’s way is to hear and obey God’s Word. That’s one of the many reasons I’m looking forward to getting back into Philippians with you all.

In the words of the old hymn by John Rippon:

How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord
Is laid for your faith in his excellent word!
What more can he say than to you he hath said
To you that for refuge to Jesus have fled?

May God continue to give us more and more of a hunger and thirst for his Word here at Truro!

Your brother,

Jamie

P.S. As I expressed in our services last Sunday, I wanted to thank you for your generous giving to the Lord, in support of the mission and vision of this church. When I wrote a special email to you on December 27, we had a $114,000 gap in our budgeted/received revenue for that month, and a small deficit for the year in addition to that. Over the next five days, you gave over $163,000. Praise God, from whom all blessings flow. And thank you again for your sacrificial giving. We begin this year on solid financial footing, and I’m deeply grateful for your continued support which enables us to walk forward with confidence into all that God has called us to do.
