Dear Truro family,
We all awoke this past Monday to a blanket of white snow covering everything in sight. It’s always amazing to see the entire landscape – cars and houses and roads and yards – totally transformed and made new. This is a picture for us of God’s gracious forgiveness and pardon of our sins. Because of what Jesus accomplished for us on the cross, when we put our trust in him, our sins are covered by the blanket of his blood and we are totally transformed and made new. And unlike earthly blankets of snow that eventually melt away, the blanket of the blood of Jesus actually melts our sin and guilt away. The life of the believer is the life of grace. Every morning we wake up to new mercies, new blankets of God’s love and forgiveness. Gifts we could never earn, and gifts we can never lose.
“Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow…” (Isaiah 1:18a). This is very, very good news!
Jamie
