Clergy Notes – December 13th, 2024

Dear Truro family,

There are so many things to thank God for as we look back on 2024 as a church. A few that come to mind (and I had to leave a lot out!):

  • January: Baptisms, a new TIPS semester, community night dinner, and we began John 4
  • February: Pancake Tuesday, Ash Wednesday, and we welcomed the Cannizzaros!
  • March: Women’s retreat, Bishop’s visit, Andrew Peterson concert, church family meeting, Living Into Lent, and Holy Week and Easter
  • April: Youth retreat, serving neighbors in Woodbridge, and the women’s third Thursday gathering
  • May: Taco Tuesday, International Festival, and the sanctuary renewal project began
  • June: Church picnic, Vacation Bible School, pizza on the playground, young families supper club, and our marriage enrichment event
  • July: Summer book club, TIPS One-to-One conversation partners, a backpack drive, and “Trurolympics”!
  • August: Outdoor 10:00 A.M. worship, a new semester for choir rehearsals and youth ministry, our Sunday school class began, and our TIPS community had their back-to-school cookout
  • September: We began to write our prayers and praises on the uncarpeted sanctuary floor, we began John 6, and we enjoyed a ministry fair as everything began again!
  • October: Youth fall retreat, Babes with Babes, TIPS cooking club, and our family ministry fall festival
  • November: Baptisms, men’s retreat, election night worship and prayer, anything-but-turkey potluck, our preschool/kindergarten’s fun run, and our membership lunch

And now here we are in December. It’s already been a wonderful month, and we still have so much to look forward to as we approach Christmas. I’m grateful to God to be a part of this church with you all!
