Dear Truro Family,
I’m thrilled to announce our next Director of Family Ministries: Preston Hansen!
For the last three years, Preston has served as the Associate Director of Youth Ministry at The Falls Church Anglican, overseeing their middle and high school programs and staff teams, planning curriculum, discipling 50+ volunteer leaders, maintaining a large ministry budget, hosting parent meetings each semester, leading all sorts of trips and events, all with the heart of a shepherd and deep love for students and their families.
Having earned his Master of Arts and Religion from Trinity School for Ministry, Preston is pursuing ordination in the Anglican Church of North America. Preston is married to Rachel, and they have a three-year-old daughter, Melody.
I’d like to thank our Vision Alignment Committee (chaired by Clare O’Leary) for all of their hard work during this search: helping vet and interview candidates, and interviewing Truro staff, volunteers, and parents. I’d also like to thank you, the congregation, for your prayers over the last few months as we’ve been searching and discerning.
Preston will be joining our team on September 1. In his role as Director of Family Ministries, he will be overseeing all of the programs, staff, and volunteers who minister to our young people. For his first few years with us, he will be giving particular attention and energy to our youth ministry, our middle and high school students and their parents.
Please commit to praying for the Hansen family over the coming weeks and months of transition, that God will give them peace and rest, and fill them with his Holy Spirit as they prepare to join in the work of God at Truro.
