Clergy Notes – April 26th, 2024

Dear Truro family,

I wanted to provide a brief update on our plans to renew the sanctuary. Thanks to your generous support, above your regular tithes, you’ve given $75,000. The 2024 Truro budget includes an additional $60,000. Therefore, we currently have $135,000 to address some of the sanctuary’s needs. This is a sizable amount, and it will certainly enable us to move forward this summer in a significant way! A small committee has been at work, receiving multiple bids from reputable companies, to address flooring, painting, refinishing, carpentry, pew cushions, etc. We don’t yet have a final number of what it will cost to address all of these needs in one fell swoop, but it will likely be double the amount we currently have on hand, especially if we are to address the sanctuary’s lighting. Therefore, if you feel moved to give towards this vision, you can do so here. And next month, after our community night dinner on Tuesday, May 14, if you’d like to join Nancy Gordon me for a “sanctuary renewal Q&A”, we’ll be sharing some more information and taking your questions about this project starting at 7:00pm (location TBD). I’m deeply grateful for your faithful giving which supports our regular budget, and for your generous giving towards this vision to renew our sanctuary!

Jamie

PS. This Sunday we’ll be celebrating baptisms at the beginning of our 10:00am service. Kids will come into the service and worship alongside their families, staying through the baptisms. After the baptisms, we’ll dismiss the kids downstairs for children’s ministry.
