Clergy Notes – April 11th, 2025

Dear Truro family,

This Sunday we begin our journey through Holy Week. Palm Sunday is a special occasion at Truro, as we relive the last week of Jesus’ earthly ministry, celebrating the great story of redemption. Please remember that our service times are different this Sunday! We will not have our 7:45 A.M. service, but instead we’ll gather at 9:00 A.M. and 11:15 A.M. in the sanctuary (remember to get there early so you don’t miss all the “Hosannas!”) I’m grateful for all the hard work of a tremendous team of volunteers and staff who have been praying, practicing, and preparing for Palm Sunday for weeks (and in some cases, months!)

While we’re talking about Sundays: If you ever struggle to find a parking spot, and you don’t mind a short walk, you’ll usually find plenty of parking in the old Bank of America lot across North Street. Don’t park in that lot during the week (you’ll get towed), but on Sundays, it’s a good/close option.

Finally, let me encourage you to make a priority not only of being in church on Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday – but on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday too (not to mention our Tuesday dinner and teaching if you want to totally immerse yourself). Making a conscious decision to observe the full scope of Holy Week isn’t about attending a lot of services. It’s about focusing a lot on Jesus. Let’s fix our eyes intently on him this Holy Week. Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!
