The heart of our internationals program is our ESOL classes. From September to May, we have two sets of ESOL classes – morning and evening. We also have summer programs, conversation classes, and lots of special events.

Conversation Club
The perfect opportunity to practice your conversational English skills while also learning about other cultures and sharing about your own! Each week, we will pick a different topic for discussion. Some weeks, we will do a short reading together and then discuss it. Conversation Clubs will meet on Tuesday mornings in-person at Truro from 10:00-11:30 AM and online Wednesday evenings from 7:15-8:45 PM EDT. Join us!
Thursday Night Small group (online)
Join this great group of internationals led by volunteer Brad Brewster, which meets every Thursday night from 7:15 – 8:45 pm on Zoom. The purpose of our small group is to “have fun, make friends, and learn about faith,” and to practice English! Each week, we start with a fun icebreaker, watch a short video on a faith topic, and then discuss it. It is always very fun, very interesting, and a great way to explore or grow in faith! Try it out!
One-to-One Conversation Partners
This popular program matches one native English speaker with one ESOL student. The two of you agree to meet 6 times over the course of the summer, at a time and place that is convenient for both of you. Popular places to meet include coffee shops or parks (or online). This is a great way to practice your English skills in a real-life situation, while also sharing about your culture with your partner. Offered both in-person and online. (Open to current students only.)
Other opportunities
We will have occasional field trips or special events on Thursdays.
All summer classes are free, but registration is required. Conversation Club and Small Group are open to new as well as current students, so invite your friends to join us! One-to-One Conversation Partners is only open to current students and has limited availability, so sign up now at:
Our ESOL classes are led by volunteer teachers, with a number of volunteer assistants as well. The classes are very interactive, and the assistants allow us to maintain small teacher-to-student ratios for practice exercises and discussions.

Morning Classes meet in person at Truro Anglican Church on Tuesdays & Thursdays:
ESOL Class: 10:00am-11:30am EST
Five levels:

Evening Classes
Evening Classes meet online via Zoom on Mondays & Wednesdays:

“Extra” Classes (both online & in person):
Conversation & Culture
Tuesdays from 12:15-1:30pm in person at Truro
This class is a discussion class, designed to give our students an opportunity to practice their English conversational skills and to encourage an exchange of ideas and a sharing of cultures. Each class will begin with a short (10-15 minute) presentation on the topic of the day, then the volunteers and students will be divided into small rooms for the discussion time. This class is free and open to all students Intermediate-level and above.
Exploring Faith
Thursdays from 12:15-1:30pm both in-person and online
This class is also a conversation class that does a literary overview of the Bible. Learn more about the Bible and the stories of the Christian faith while practicing your English skills.
Field Trips & Special Events:
About once a month, we either take a field trip to an interesting local site or hold a special event. Favorites include a field trip to Mt. Vernon and our Thanksgiving Celebration.
