We take time for in-depth sharing of each person’s challenges and joys in an atmosphere of caring, drawing on the collective wisdom of the group for godly insights. We’re a mix of singles, couples, and families with teenagers and young children. All are welcome!

This newly forming group will be studying the later letters of the Apostle Paul using Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and Philemon for Everyone by New Testament scholar and Anglican Bishop N.T. Wright. Future topics may include exploring the gifts of the Spirit. After our study time, we will take time to share praises and concerns, and to pray for one another. We will occasionally meet in person. Meetings will conclude by 9:00 p.m. All are welcome!

Our group (of about 15-20 people) meets to study either a book of the Bible or a book about the Christian faith. Starting September 15, we’ll be studying the Book of Acts using Gary Hamrick’s Walking in the Spirit’s Power: Authentic Christianity According to Acts. There are some homework readings, and group members (who wish to do so) take turns leading the week’s discussion and taking notes. We end promptly by 9:00 pm.

Our group, Praying Chariots, sets aside time to intercede in prayer for the Church, our world, and our community. We “pray the Psalms” and conclude with the Lord’s Prayer. We rotate facilitator responsibilities weekly among the group (which is voluntary). We welcome all who wish to join us in this dedicated ministry of prayer, fellowship and encouragement.

HeartShapers is a special group designed just for mothers of infants and toddlers (up to age 5). We primarily engage in Bible study tailored for women in this season of life. We also make time for fellowship. During meetings, infants stay with their moms, while childcare is provided for toddlers. We conclude by 11:00.

Our group begins our time with a meal. We usually provide the main course, and others bring a salad, side, or dessert. This fall, we will be studying the Parables of Jesus. We close our time in prayer, sharing joys and sorrows. We occasionally engage in service projects as well. We’re a warm and caring group of about 15 members, many of whom are active and long-time members of Truro. All are welcome!

Our group is designed for newcomers and those seeking to become more aware of and responsive to God’s presence. Each week, we begin with dinner, followed by a European model of reflection in which we focus on “seeing Jesus in everyday life.” We also reflect on the sermon from the previous Sunday. Families with children are welcome. During the sharing time, kids can play or watch videos in the basement. We adjourn promptly at 8:30.

We also occasionally engage in service projects.

We kick things off with a fun icebreaker, watch a short 15– to 20-minute video about a Christian faith topic, and then share, discuss, and pray together. We usually have 8–10 people each week. A great way to grow together!

Our group of 12 seeks to know and love the Lord, and one another, while exploring our faith with sincerity and joy. During our study time, we have studied books such as N.T. Wright’s Into the Heart of Romans, and Henri Nouwen’s Life of the Beloved, while at other times we’ve reflected on the previous Sunday’s sermon. We end our time by sharing concerns and praying for one another. While most of us are couples age 60+, we’d happily embrace anyone who would care to join us.

While most of the fellas are in midlife, we welcome men of all ages and stages.

Ours is a thoughtful and caring group that meets to discuss the Scripture reading and sermon from the previous Sunday, as well as to pray with one another. We also gather for an occasional potluck or for a service project with a local mission partner. All are welcome! Members are a mix of singles and couples in their early-40s to mid-60s, including some with preschool- and elementary-age children. The kids have space to play and enjoy snacks in an adjoining room.
