Over the next few weeks, I’d like to highlight ways you can get involved in serving on a volunteer team here at Truro. This week, I’ll focus on ways you can help with The Nest (our nursery) or with Truro Kids (elementary):
- Pre-K Volunteer: Help lead a class of preschool children (ages 3–5). For someone who loves young children and enjoys creating a warm, nurturing environment for them to learn about God. Volunteers serve on Sundays from 9:30–11:30am.
- Small Group Leader (K–4): Lead elementary-age children during Sunday morning services. For someone who loves working with kids and helping them grow in their understanding of God’s love. Leaders serve on Sundays from 9:15–11:00am.
- Teen Helper: Assist a class leader teaching children K–4. For teens who enjoy helping children and want to grow as leaders. Helpers serve from 9:15–11:00am on Sundays.
- Substitute Leader: Step in to lead or assist when regular small group leaders are unavailable. For someone with a flexible schedule who enjoys helping wherever needed. Volunteers serve on an as-needed basis.
- Volunteer Team: Help prepare materials for small groups and assist with setup and cleanup. For someone who enjoys supporting ministry behind the scenes. Volunteers serve as needed depending on events and programming.
- Check-In Helper: Welcome families and help check children in as they arrive at church. For someone who enjoys greeting people and helping families feel comfortable and cared for. Volunteers serve as needed during Sunday morning programs.
- Club 56 Leader: Lead students in grades 5–6. For someone who enjoys building relationships with pre-teens and helping them grow in their faith during this important stage of life. Leaders typically serve Sunday mornings.
