Clergy Notes – April 17th, 2026

Dear Truro family,

Last week, our education building (home of Truro Preschool and Kindergarten during the week and The Nest on Sundays) had a flooded sink on the third floor. This caused an overnight domino effect of water damage all the way to the ground floor. Several hallways, bathrooms, ceilings, and classrooms have been affected. I’m grateful for the hard work and flexibility of our staff who have worked overtime to assess damage, arrange short-term solutions, and plan repairs in the coming weeks.

I’m letting you know about this for a few reasons:

  • So you can be proud of – and pray for – the many people who have been impacted by and are addressing this.
  • So you can see how your giving supports the spiritual life of this church, and also the physical needs of our campus. If you give, thank you! If you’re not giving yet, I encourage you to.
  • So you can be aware of the changes we’re implementing for the next two Sundays for The Nest and Truro Kids. We’ll provide ministry to all ages as usual, but with some space relocations:
    • The Nest will move to the side rooms of the undercroft. Infants through two-year-olds will be in the extended “mother’s room”. Ages 3-5 will be next door in combined rooms. Check-in will also be downstairs in the undercroft. Our hope is that the same trusted teachers, familiar toys, and snacks will help ease this temporary transition. While The Nest is using the mother’s room, it will remain open for any mothers who need it.
    • K-4th grade will meet as usual, but in a large group, in the undercroft. Check in outside at the family ministry table or downstairs in the undercroft.
    • Club56 will meet as usual in the Gunnell House.

See you this Sunday!
Jamie
