Dear Truro family,
What exactly is a “volunteer” in a church context? Is it just someone who works with kids, or sets up refreshments, or offers to play paint ball with middle schoolers? A volunteer is so much more than that. He or she is a “partner in the gospel”. That’s the phrase Paul uses in Philippians 1:5, and that’s the way we should think about it. In whatever way(s) you serve, you’re advancing the spread of the good news of Jesus, as a member of his Body, the Church.
At our annual meeting last Sunday, we distributed our 2026 Volunteer Guide. We called it that because “2026 Partnering in the Gospel Guide” was a bit too wordy. I encourage you to prayerfully and seriously consider – if you’re not already – how God is calling to you to step up and step forward into using your gifts to build up this church in your own unique way.

P.S. We tried something new this past Sunday: food trucks! In the process, we learned some lessons for next time. To all who ended up waiting (and waiting…) in the long lines and chilly temperatures, we’re so sorry for the inconvenience, and we thank you for being so patient and gracious about it!
