Clergy Notes – November 14th, 2025

Dear Truro family,

This coming Sunday, November 16, for all members of this church family (who are able at this time), I’ll be inviting us to take a moment to fill out the “2026 Giving” card in the pews. This is not a Christian fundraising drive, or a church pyramid scheme, or a spiritual way of twisting your arm to help us pay the bills. Rather, this is a normal and healthy thing for all Christians! All that we have has been given to us by God. So, out of a response of gratefulness and obedience we praise God through giving a portion of our income back to him as he works in the world through his Church.

Philippians 1:5 describes this as “partnership in the gospel”. As the members of the Body of Jesus Christ, we support the proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and we remind ourselves that our lives (and wallets!) are centered on Jesus, not ourselves. We don’t give because of compulsion, guilt, or being berated by a preacher. But because the Holy Spirit has produced fruit in us, prompting us to give gladly, freely, and worshipfully.

Thank you, Truro, for your generous and God-ward giving.
Jamie
