Dear Truro family,
Over the next several weeks, I’d like to share about our vision for outreach at Truro. We start with our foundation, as a church built upon Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 3:11). Upon this foundation, the pillars of Truro are the Word, worship, community, and outreach.
Holding these pillars together allows us to celebrate and proclaim the good news of the gospel. Whether that’s on our campus (gathered), or in our neighborhoods, country, or world (scattered), all that we do revolves around what God has done for us in Jesus. This motivates our passion for outreach, to proclaim this gospel in action, on three levels: local, domestic, and international.
The central opportunity for members of Truro to participate in outreach on all three levels at once is through the ministry of TIPS (Truro International Programs and Services). Through TIPS, God is literally bringing people of all nations to our door. This summer, our prayer is that many more members of Truro will consider supporting this outreach to the nations (here locally!) through group clubs, and/or a “1-to-1 Partner” program, matching a native English speaker with an English learner.
