Clergy Notes – June 14th, 2024

Dear Truro family,

It was a joy to gather with over 100 of you for our community night this past Tuesday! Just before the heat-wave hit, it was great to enjoy some outdoor BBQ and fellowship. Thanks to everyone who helped. A few updates having to do with our life together:

  • Our first vacation Bible school since 2019 is next week! Pray for the 70 kids who will be on campus, and the 40 adult leaders and teenagers caring for them.
  • We’ve almost completed phase one of our sanctuary renewal project, by opening up the narthex to provide more room for people to gather and for traffic to flow. Further in the Truro News is a link that will keep you updated (and where you can contribute).
  • Many of you have been praying for our search for a full-time Director of Worship. There’s no news to report, other than that our search continues, so please keep praying.
  • Occasionally our parking lot fills up on Sundays before the 10:00am service. Just a reminder that Fairfax has several free parking lots.
  • The bishops of the Anglican Church in North America will be meeting next weekend to elect (from within their ranks) a new Archbishop. Pray that God gives them real wisdom and unity, and for whomever is called to lead our denomination.
  • Our newcomer lunch this past Sunday was literally overflowing. If you’ve been a part of Truro for a while now, please (!) be on the lookout for new faces, and please (!!) take the initiative to welcome them and make them feel seen, known, and invited into the family.

Your brother,
Jamie
