Advent is a season preceding Christmas that announces the “coming” or “advent” of God. But what is the nature of this God who comes among us? That is what we will talk about over the weeks of Advent.
1st Sunday of Advent we discuss the God we worship in the liturgy.
We discover that worship is a Trinitarian affair as we come to the Father, through the Son in the power of the Spirit.
2nd Sunday of Advent focuses on the Father—God For Us
We learn about the Father because the Son reveals him to us. In Jesus, we experience the undeserved favor of the Father.
3rd Sunday of Advent focuses on the Holy Spirit—God Ahead of Us
The Spirit who anointed Jesus for his earthly pilgrimage also will fill us so that we can follow in the footsteps of Jesus. The Spirit is the great choreographer of the Christian life.
4th Sunday of Advent, the Sunday preceding Christmas focuses on the Son—God With Us
Jesus is God in human form. To see Jesus is to see the Father. Is not an overstatement to say that God is essentially “Christ like”.
Join us this Advent as we plunge ourselves into the mystery of God who comes to us as He is—a communion of love
