The Truro Choir exists as a community of worshippers. Young and old, trained and untrained, experienced and inexperienced. There is a place in this community for singers of all backgrounds, even those who have never sung in a choir before. If you love to sing, we would love to have your gifts contributing to this ministry. This choir also exists as a community of worship leaders. Psalm 34:3 says: “Oh magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!” Those of us up front are not there to perform or impress. We’re there to invite. So if you have a love for Jesus, a heart for worship, and a desire to invite others to magnify the Lord with you, then please consider using those gifts with us. We’ll make you feel right at home.
Kick-off Weekend 2016
The choir will set aside Fri, Sep 16 (evening) and Sat, Sep 17 (morning–afternoon) for our kick-off weekend here at Truro. Come for a wonderful time of food, fellowship, fun, and singing/learning a lot of good music.
The choir helps lead worship at our 9:00 and 11:15 am services. Rehearsal for the first service is at 8:00 am, and for the second service at 10:40 am. Members can either sing at one service or both, depending on their schedule and other commitments.
At special times throughout the year: On Christmas Eve (Sat, Dec 24, 2016), Ash Wednesday (Mar 1, 2017), Maundy Thursday (Apr 13, 2017), and Good Friday (Apr 14, 2017), the choir helps lead worship at our evening services, which occasionally call for an additional rehearsal.
Members of the choir seek to attend rehearsals as faithfully as possible. Rehearsals give us an opportunity to worship and pray together, to prepare Sunday’s music, and to grow as a community of worshippers.
