A musician named Allen Levi has a song called Simeon’s Dying Day. It is a wonderful and original Christmas song. Singing about the anticipation that Simeon must have felt about seeing the Messiah, Allen wonders what Simeon was feeling when he finally laid eyes on the Christ child. Surely he was filled with joy, but could that joy have been mixed with sadness?
