In 2011 I was two years into my “real job”. I had graduated college, gotten my degree and set out to conquer the world. Conquering the world really meant becoming a true adult who had responsibilities, bills and college debt. Unfortunately paying those bills meant waking up at 5:30am every morning, driving through NOVA traffic and going to work all day. Reality had set in, I was no longer in college and I started to miss the days that I could go to class, come back to my dorm and take a nap.
The other wonderful thing about college was that I was surrounded by awesome people. I had great friends. Friends that supported me, laughed with me and who I could enjoy life with. And in reality, I missed those friends.
I did Alpha in January of 2012 and its there that I met some of my closest friends in NOVA. I needed a place to wrestle with big questions in life. But I also needed to do it with people that supported me through the process. Who wouldn’t judge me, but would explore with me. Seven years later I’m still involved in Alpha and I still love it!
