Truro’s Parish Picnic is this Sunday, August 13th! We hope you’ll join us. We could still use some people signing-up to bring food or to help make the day happen. And if you’re wondering why we love our Parish Picnic so much, here’s another reason:

It affirms the need for rest!

When we spend an afternoon together, leisurely eating, talking, and letting the kids get tired-out, we affirm the need for REST! God rested in creation (Geneses 2:2). Jesus rested in His ministry (Mark 6:31). And so we rest. Although “rest” is high on God’s list of priorities, in Northern Virginia it is difficult for rest to be high on our priorities list. So come to the Parish Picnic to affirm our need to rest! Bring a bag of carrots or a watermelon to enjoy a feast! Bring your kids and let them play! Bring yourselves, and do as God does: Rest.
